An officer was stopped on the shoulder of the ramp at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, Westchester County Police spokesman Kieran O’Leary said.

The officer was on the ramp connecting the Bronx River Parkway to the eastbound Cross County Parkway when a Chevy Impala, driven by White Plains resident Natalie Estrada, traveling in the left lane smashed into the officer’s patrol car, injuring him.

The officer was transported by Empress Ambulance to the Westchester Medical Center with neck and back injuries, O’Leary said. He was treated for the injuries and has since been released. Estrada and her four passengers in the Impala were uninjured in the crash.

Estrada, 24, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. She was also cited for failing to use her designated lane of travel. Estrada was booked at Westchester County Police Headquarters and released. She is scheduled to appear in Yonkers City Court on Tuesday, April 24 to respond to the charges.
